The Next Assassin’s Creed Chapter Assassin’s Creed 4: Under the Black Flag is at once gorgeous, well designed, and flat out fun while delivering one of the single most frustrating narrative experiences I can recall in recent memory. While the game is very much the worthy scion of a great house, it also has the distinct whiff of “reboot” about it- reminding me of the very first Assassin’s Creed game. In this sense, the game is very much a jumping on point for those new to the series and my frustrations will only be shared by hardcore series veterans.First and foremost, this game is awesomely beautiful- not just the graphics, but the lush, vibrant color palate makes this world one that I look forward to spending time in every time I boot up my console. Another year, another Assassin’s Creed box set. I’m not going to touch too much on the game in this review, as this is the collectors edition, so if you want to know how the game is, read the reviews for the game. That being said, the game is incredibly BRIGHT! I had to turn down the brightness pretty much all the way. You may fare better on your television, but mine was not a fan.As for as the packaging, they did the best they could to cram everything into as small of a box as possible. Not sure if it’s necessarily a bad thing, as some CE boxes can be quite large. The main item is the Edward statue, which comes in several parts, the main part being Edward, who connects to the stand by a small peg in one of his feet. I do have to note that the whole thing is very top heavy, and will not stay upright on it’s own for me. The flag pole comes in 2 parts, one part being the main mast, and the other part being the flag, topmost portion of the mast. The bottom part to be forced into the base, as for whatever reason it didn’t…
